New Business Development Intern

Brown & Brown is seeking a New Business Development Intern for our team in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

​WHAT YOU'LL DO:

• Assist the department with administrative tasks while learning the Insurance Industry
• Answer phones, route calls, and take/deliver messages
• Perform data entry and create reports
• Assist with outbound cold calling
• Foster and seek relationships with teammates across all levels of Brown & Brown
• Ensure compliance with government agencies and corporate policies and procedures
• Attend training sessions, courses, etc. to maintain up-to-date skills
• Always conduct the highest level of confidentiality

WHAT YOU'LL NEED:

• Willingness to grow within the organization
• Proficiency in Microsoft 365, and Excel
• Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills

EDUCATIONAL/PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT:

• Utilize marketing and public speaking skills.
• Understand insurance agency operations
• Learn integration between technology systems and insurance

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree
• Diligent, strong communicator
• Professional appearance
• Supportive of working in a team environment
• Ability to follow instructions
• Working knowledge of computers
• Very task-oriented
