Registered Nurse-Senior (ADM Patient Services)

Provides direct nursing care to patients in a healthcare facility. Responsible for preparing equipment and aiding physician during treatment and examination of patients. May lead or mentor lower level team members.
This role is a Non-clinical role with no direct patient care responsibilities. Focuses on providing clinical guidance, oversight of nursing staff, and educational support
- Demonstrates advanced skills in the delivery of physical examinations of patients, performing complex medical testing and providing physician interpretations of results, consulting with physicians and implementing treatment plan; administers medications and injections as needed.
- Ensures the clinic flow runs smoothly; works closely with assigned scheduler to ensure referrals, follow-up appointments, diagnostic tests are scheduled accordingly.
- Triages patient calls and works closely with call center team members.
- Assists and arranges for hospital admissions as needed.
- Follows-up on diagnostic tests, labs and ensures they are reported to the medical provider.
- Refers patients as needed to appropriate specialist as ordered by physician, consults and collaborates with other members of the health care team, schedules follow-up appointments, weekly check appointments, and procedure appointments.
- Educates patients and family members.
- Performs all other duties as assigned.
- Functions within the required nursing process as defined by the Texas Nurse Practice Act.
- Supports the mission, vision and patient promise throughout all interactions.
- Communicates effectively, written and verbally.
- Analytical thinking – this role requires analyzing information and using logic to coordinate work within schedule constraints and handle emergent requirements in a timely manner.
- Participates as an integral part of the interdisciplinary healthcare team in providing the highest quality of care to the patient.
- Meets all training and competency requirements.
EDUCATION:
- Associate’s degree is required
- Bachelors degree highly preferred
EXPERIENCE:
- Five (5) years of professional nursing experience is required
Licenses/Certification:
- Current Texas RN license Required
- CPR Certification Required
