Warehouse Supervisor - Purchasing/Central (Full-Time)

About the role

Basic Job Function:

To maintain the purchasing warehouse in a safe and efficient manner as directed by the Director.  To monitor and control incoming and outgoing materials at the warehouse.  To provide leadership and training to all warehouse assistants. To have a thorough knowledge of the warehouse inventory and inventory process, par levels and purchasing program

 

Use of Company Vehicle:  Designated to drive a company vehicle/DOT and forklift certified

 

Minimum Requirements:

  • Minimum (1) year experience in a warehouse environment
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Forklift certification required
  • DOT certification required
  • Valid Georgia Driver’s License with acceptable driving record
  • Company policy requires that one must be 21 years of age or older to drive a company vehicle and pass a yearly Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) review and DOT physical
  • Proficient in Windows XP and Microsoft Office software applications such as: Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • Proficient with peripherals, copier, fax, telephone and calculator
  • Knowledge of Adaco/Fourth inventory program helpful

Tasks/Responsibilities:

  • Performs, supervises and coordinates the receiving, storing and distribution of materials, tools, equipment and products.
  • Instructs/supervises three warehouse personnel in the proper and safe use of equipment and conducts staff meetings and interact with each warehouse personnel.
  • Performs and supervises the moving of materials and items from receiving areas to storage areas by hand, hand truck or rolling platforms.
  • Performs and supervises the sorting and placement of materials on racks, shelves or in bins according to predetermined sequences such as size, type, style, and color or product code.
  • Performs and supervises the completion of work orders or requisitions for inventory items, distributes to appropriate locations.
  • Working knowledge of Inventory program with regards to generating picking tickets and participates in monthly inventory process.
  • Ensures boxes, crates and other containers are opened using proper tools and exercising caution.  Inspects all materials for damage and reports damage to appropriate buyers.
  • Maintains orderly receiving and distribution files.
  • Maintains an orderly and clean warehouse as well as maintaining company vehicles
  • Ability to maintain par levels of inventory and place replenishment orders as needed and instructed be inventories manager and/or Director.
  • Maintain a thorough knowledge of current guest services, activities, dining options, shops, local attractions, and historical information regarding Sea Island and the surrounding area to answer any questions guests may have to the best of one’s ability
  • If applicable, complete a Guest Problem Resolutions (GPR) form on any issues (solved or unsolved issues) and follow-up on issues as needed (if computer access is not available give information to admin support)
  • Maintains cleanliness and organization in all work areas
  • Uphold appropriate departmental standards of quality/timing
  • Uphold and ensure compliance with all company and departmental policies and procedures
  • Report all equipment problems and maintenance issues, known safety hazards, or unsafe practices and procedures to supervisor immediately
  • Attends all scheduled employee meetings and brings suggestions for improvement
  • Willing and timely execution of other duties as delegated by leadership

 

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to kneel, crouch, squat, climb, stand, sit, balance, reach, bend, push, pull and walk for prolonged periods
  • If applicable, must have the ability to work for extended time periods in an outdoor environment, including sun, heat, cold, wind, rain, and higher than normal n
