About the RoleAs a General Maintenance and Repair Technician, you will play a vital role in ensuring the seamless operation of facilities by complying with safety standards and regulations. You will conduct routine and preventive maintenance tasks across various building systems and components including but not limited to troubleshooting machinery, HVAC, plumbing and electrical systems, maintaining detailed records, and more. Additionally, you will promptly address emergencies and collaborate with maintenance teams and contractors, diagnose issues, perform repairs, and conduct preventive maintenance on equipment and systems. This role requires travel between property sites in South Florida.

About the RoleAs a General Maintenance and Repair Technician, you will play a vital role in ensuring the seamless operation of facilities by complying with safety standards and regulations. You will conduct routine and preventive maintenance tasks across various building systems and components including but not limited to troubleshooting machinery, HVAC, plumbing and electrical systems, maintaining detailed records, and more. Additionally, you will promptly address emergencies and collaborate with maintenance teams and contractors, diagnose issues, perform repairs, and conduct preventive maintenance on equipment and systems. This role requires travel between property sites in South Florida.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine and preventative maintenance tasks across various building systems and components
- Repair and install tiles, including cutting, shaping, and setting tiles to create durable and aesthetically pleasing surfaces
- Conduct drywall repairs, including patching holes, installing new drywall, and finishing surfaces to a smooth, paint-ready condition
- Execute minor electrical repairs and installations, such as fixing switches, outlets, and light fixtures
- Perform basic plumbing tasks, including repairing leaks, unclogging drains, and replacing fixtures such as faucets and toilets
- Ensure all electrical and plumbing work complies with relevant codes and safety standards
- Assist the Project Manager in coordinating and executing renovation and construction projects within the hotel and apartment properties
- Follow detailed work plans and schedules provided by the Project Manager.Communicate effectively with the Project Manager about project progress, issues, and requirements for materials and tools
- Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies to ensure a safe working environment
- Use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required and ensure proper handling of tools and materials
- Identify and report any potential safety hazards or code violations
- Additional DutiesRespond promptly to maintenance requests and service calls from tenants and hotel guests
- Maintain an organized workspace and ensure tools and equipment are in good working condition
- Assist with other general tasks as directed by the Project Manager
- Primarily indoor work environments within hotel and apartment properties
- May require working in confined spaces and at heights
- Must be available for on-call emergencies and occasional overtime
Ideal Background
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Vocational training or certification in relevant trades (e.g., electrical, plumbing, tile work) preferred
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in general maintenance, handyman services, or construction
- Proficiency in tile work, including measuring, cutting, and installing tiles
- Srong drywall repair skills, including patching, installing, and finishing
- Basic electrical and plumbing skills, with knowledge of safety codes and standards
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, drawings, and work plans
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail. As well as strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Must have his own tools
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Adaptable and able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
