Security Officer: Harvard Graduation Ceremony ($24.61/hour)

JOB SPECIFICATIONS:

Title: Temp Security Officer (Harvard Commencement 2025)

Location: Harvard University (Cambridge, MA)

Rate: $24.61/hour 

Mandatory Shifts:

1. May 28th - 12pm-5pm (5 hours)
2. May 29th - 5:30am-2pm (8.5 hours)
3. Other days and shifts may be assigned throughout the month of May as needed

 

GENERAL JOB DUTIES

• Provide professional customer service to all attendees of ceremony
• Access control (entrance and exit) to commencement ceremony
• Conduct bag checks and use of metal detectors
• Conduct foot patrols of Harvard property to include interior / exterior of grounds.
• Respond to emergency situations
• Assignment may require prolonged periods of standing or walking 
• Must be comfortable working outdoors in any weather circumstances (rain, sun, cold, etc.)

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS(Additional qualifications may be specified and receive preference, depending upon the nature of the position.)

• At least 18 years of age
• Reliable means of communication and transportation
• Legal right to work in the United States
• Ability to effectively speak, read and write English
• High school diploma or G.E.D.
• Willingness to participate in the company’s stringent pre-employment screening process
