Principal Engineering Manager (Consumer Experience – Fundamentals) (viagogo Inc., New York, NY)Work with the engineering and product leadership team to set long-term technical strategies for the Consumer Experience organization, considering longer-term objectives, current state and capabilities, and the external technical landscape. Establish and iterate on processes for maintaining world-class operational excellence for the experience suite supported by the Consumer Experience web growth team. Hire and retain a well-scaled team of senior and lead engineers, as well as staff and senior staff individual contributors. Use strong communication skills (written and verbal) to support the growth of team members by producing career-development plans and matching them to appropriate stretch-products. Select, promote, and evaluate the performance of lead engineers, as well as staff and senior staff engineers, within the Consumer Experience organization and the overall engineering organization. Lead design and implementation of functionality, tools, frameworks and platform that enable meaningful business impact, accelerate speed of software development and increases efficiency of all engineers the Consumer Experience organization Evaluate and ensure high quality of all software designs, overall platform architecture and relevant changes, and implementation of features within the Consumer Experience organization.Up to 10% domestic travel to Company’s West Coast locations required. Position allows for telecommuting from anywhere in the U.S. Salary: $400,000 - $450,000 per year. Minimum Requirements: Bachelor’s degree or U.S. equivalent in Computer Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Computer Science, or related field plus 6 years of professional experience engineering, designing, building, operating, and maintaining software products, as well as building and supporting N-tier products authored in a mixture of back-end (including C#) and front-end languages (including JavaScript). Must also have experience with the following special skills: 5 years of professional experience building and maintaining complex distributed systems that operate at significant scale (millions of users);5 years of professional experience building and deploying solutions to service global markets, including multi-language and multi-currency e-commerce platforms;5 years of professional experience building products top of a relational database (including SQL Server), with the requisite tools and techniques to do so at scale (including in-process caching);5 years of professional experience working with MVC frameworks (including ASP.Net MVC); 4 years of professional experience managing a team of 8 or more engineers;4 years of professional experience building and deploying controlled experiments (including A/B tests) at a global scale;3 years of professional experience managing other managers in either a manager-lead or director-manager relationship;3 years of professional experience engineering solutions that support a two-sided marketplace;3 years of professional experience working with frontend frameworks that support architecting applications of significant complexity (including React);3 years of professional experience with utilizing front-end state management techniques and libraries (including React Context, Redux, or MobX);2 years of professional experience participating in native application development and deployment (including Swift and Kotlin); and2 years of professional experience exercising hire, fire, and promotion authority for an engineering team. Please apply online at: https://workatviagogo.com/
