What you will do:
The Device / Endpoint Security Engineer supports Zero Trust device pillar objectives, including continuous device inventory, posture validation, compliance enforcement, and threat protection. This role integrates endpoint security, vulnerability, and policy enforcement capabilities to inform access decisions and reduce risk from user‑controlled and autonomous devices. The engineer works with USCIS stakeholders to improve device trust, automate remediation, and enhance endpoint telemetry in support of Zero Trust visibility and analytics.
Key Responsibilities
- Engineer and operate device and endpoint security controls that support Zero Trust device pillar objectives.
- Maintain continuous visibility into endpoint inventory, posture, and compliance across user‑controlled and autonomous devices.
- Implement and tune endpoint enforcement policies that inform access decisions based on device trust, compliance, and risk.
- Deploy, configure, and manage endpoint detection and response capabilities to improve threat detection and response.
- Integrate device telemetry with identity, network, and analytics platforms to support Zero Trust visibility and enforcement.
- Support automated remediation and policy‑driven workflows to reduce manual effort and response time.
- Partner with USCIS stakeholders to assess gaps, recommend improvements, and support ongoing maturity advancement.
- 3+ years of hands‑on experience implementing and operating endpoint security and Endpoint detection and response (EDR) solutions in enterprise environments, preferably in a US Federal Government agency such as DHS.
- Strong understanding of device posture validation, compliance enforcement, and risk‑based access control.
- Experience integrating endpoint telemetry with security analytics and monitoring platforms.
- Ability to troubleshoot complex endpoint security issues across operating systems and deployment models.
- Familiarity with Zero Trust principles as they apply to device trust and enforcement.
- U.S. Citizenship required.
- Active DHS USCIS Public Trust clearance or Secret (or above) for reciprocity.
- Experience supporting federal device security programs or DHS‑aligned environments.
- Familiarity with vulnerability, configuration, and patch management integration.
- Experience with automation or policy‑driven remediation workflows.
- Exposure to Zero Trust implementations spanning identity, endpoint, and network control integration.
