To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the next lower grade level. Qualifying specialized experience for the Financial Management Specialist includes: 1. Utilizing federal financial management principles, accounting standards, to ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and reporting requirements. 2. Analyzing and resolving complex financial management issues by evaluating accounting data, and developing strategic recommendations to improve financial operations, internal controls, and organizational performance. 3. Providing expert technical guidance and recommendations to senior leadership on accounting procedures, audit readiness, and process improvements, ensuring stewardship of public funds.
