Research Assistant

The Johns Hopkins Evidence-based Practice Center seeks to hire a Research Assistant to assist a multidisciplinary team with performance of a systematic review of published evidence in studies of patient monitoring systems as part of the AHRQ-funded Making Healthcare Safer initiative.

Specific Duties & Responsibilities

• The specific duties call for the research assistant to assist the lead investigator and the Senior Research Program Manager in multiple tasks, including,
• Help to prepare the study protocol.
• Conduct literature searches.
• Draft and revise data abstraction forms.
• Review studies to determine whether they meet criteria for inclusion in the review.
• Extract data from relevant studies.
• Help to organize and verify extracted data.
• Contribute to the writing of the report and associated manuscript.
• Attend weekly team meetings.

• Bachelor's Degree in related discipline.
• Additional related experience may substitute for required education, to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.

• Preferred to have a medical degree with experience in clinical medicine, strong skills in epidemiologic methods, and some experience in conducting systematic reviews.
  

• Must have strong interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively in a team including multiple investigators and staff.
  

• Must have strong organizational skills and an ability to function independently when given appropriate guidance.

Starting Salary Range: $17.00 - $30.00 HRLY (Commensurate with experience)

Schedule: Monday to Friday: 8:30 am – 5 pm
