Introduction
Internship in Green EconomyTechnopolis Group is a European leader in strategic policy advice in the field of science, technology and innovation (STI), having developed unique expertise in several policy fields, such as Green Transformation. Our team undertakes comparative policy studies, monitoring and evaluation studies and provides strategic advice to various EU institutions, as well as to other international organisations. We also work for national and regional policy making and research organisations, research funding organisations and public-private partnerships. We have approximately 260 colleagues working across 12 offices. In the Brussels Office, we are around 45 colleagues.

Technopolis is offering a 4-6 months paid internship at our Brussels OfficeWe seek to appoint an enthusiastic intern to join our Green Transformation team and gain first-hand insights in environmental and climate policies and get to support our team of experts in the design and implementation of several assignments for the European Union. Given the current pipeline of projects, knowledge of English in working proficiency is a requirement.
Your profile
- Recently finalised university education or a student currently in the last year of a Master programme, preferably in either environmental policy/science or related areas such as economics, political sciences, or engineering - with a specialisation and interest on sustainability topics.
- Interest in the new developments in EU policies in the area of the transition to climate neutrality, circular economy, sustainable energy, environment, biodiversity, climate finance, as well as support actions for cities and regions, new technologies and innovations.
- Interest in stakeholder engagement, networking, sustainable development activities.
- Acquainted with qualitative research methods (e.g. literature review, desk research, interviews, case studies, surveys) and at least basic quantitative methods.
- Positive attitude towards liaising with different stakeholders (i.e. industry, companies, business associations, and regional/local authorities).
- Attention to detail.
- Flexibility.
- Good organisation and communication skills;
- Proficiency in Excel, Word and Power Point;
- Full proficiency of English in speaking and writing mandatory. Knowledge of any other EU language is a plus.
- Ability and interest to work and learn from working in a team
- Strong willingness to learn about new topics and methods, and gain new skills
Your responsibilities
Support in ongoing and new projects or preparation of tenders, in tasks including:
- Assist in literature reviews, and desk research on specific topics.
- Carry out a mapping of relevant stakeholders for a given policy/policy initiative.
- Support for qualitative and quantitative data collection and analysis.
- Support in data collection strategies; conducting data cleaning, structuring and analysis.
- Support in designing, implementing, and analysing surveys.
- Conduct interviews with various stakeholders (industry, agencies, public sector, EU institutions, etc.)
- Support for drafting case studies.
- Contribute to the organisation of meetings, workshops, working groups, both online and on-site.
- Support to communication activities (monitoring content, drafting brief articles, managing online content, contacting content sources, etc. ).
- Support in drafting minutes of events.
- Support in drafting emails.
