Software Engineer JOB LOCATION: Stevenage & Bolton SECURITY CLEARANCE LEVEL: SC to Start DURATION: 6+ Months (Extension Possible) WORK PATTERN: Full Time ONSITE (Compressed Option Available) RATE: £ 70.00 Per hr on Umbrella (Inside IR35) TARGET INDUSTRIES AND COMPANIES. Essential Skillset & Tools * C/C++ EXPERIENCE (ADA WOULD BE A DESIRABLE ON TOP OF THIS, BUT NOT ESSENTIAL) * An awareness of developing and deploying software on real-time Operating Systems, Risc-V and ARM-based processing platforms. * Excellent analytical and design ability, including review and critical analysis. * Knowledge of modern software development practices Overview: * The growing workload within MBDA UK has created an exciting opportunity within the Embedded Software team . * We supply a full range of hard real time software solutions for the next generation of missile and defence solutions. Role Requirements / Responsibilities: * You will be developing embedded, real-time software. This is a hands-on role and requires the continued development and integration of missile subsystem software products and evolutions for future products. You will be developing software targeting C, C++ and/or Ada languages. This software will be integrated with other software from several sources, firmware and hardware. Skillset / Experience Required: * Previous software engineering experience in the development of test solutions * Experience in the development of embedded software with C, C++ (Ada experience could also be beneficial, but not essential). It would be desirable for you to have knowledge of Real Time Operating Systems. * Can do’ and flexible approach – you’ll enjoy solving technical problems that sometimes extend beyond the bounds of “software” * Excellent analytical and design ability, including review and critical analysis * The ability to communicate effectively with multiple stakeholders. * An awareness of developing and deploying software on real-time Operating Systems, Risc-V and ARM-based processing platforms. * Knowledge of modern software development practices. * It would be advantageous to have a knowledge of standards such as DefStan 00-55 & DO178B/C and restricted coding standards such as MISRA / SPARK
