The Integrated Solutions, Modeling, and Architecture (ISMA) directorate assesses, develops, and evaluates solution architectures for our customers’ largest, most complex challenges across all the operational domains. In the Operations and Mission Analysis Department you’ll be part of a special team that analyzes the world’s most challenging threats and helps define new capabilities to counter them, pushing the boundaries of innovation, and leading the industry in operational modeling and simulation using our purpose-built software. As a team member in the Visualization & Customer Engagement Section, you will join a high-performing team of fellow engineers at the Customer Immersion Center in Crystal City, Virginia, working to support the customer across the operational domains.
 

Raytheon’s Customer Immersion Center is currently seeking a Senior Operations Research Analyst.  This is an onsite role in Arlington, VA.

 

What You Will Do

• Develop, analyze, and assess system operations and results specific to the customer’s operational problem sets in the operational domains of maritime, land, air, and space.
• Use software tools and methods, campaign analysis, and system level visualization to describe results and recommendations to the customer.
• Develop and visualize solutions to worldwide challenges which benefit our warfighters.
• Develop and integrate computer models and simulations which effectively capture systems of systems effects in varied and complex threat environments. You will use the model to generate virtual and/or analytical solutions, identify technology gaps, and demonstrate operational benefits of new concepts in complex scenarios.
• Develop requirements, and test system performance

 

After some initial experience, you can expect to also use your skills to augment and support:

• Wargaming efforts to train military operators

• Evaluation of end-to-end military system needs to determine interfaces, and data connectivity requirements across the kill-chain.
• Model system and mission kill chains using US Government, commercial, and Raytheon M&S tools.
• Develop metrics to provide results which communicate the chain of events that led to an action.
• Implement algorithms to provide next-generation performance across the entire system of systems. 
   

Qualifications You Must Have

• Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience.
• Experience with scripting languages Python, MATLAB, Shell, and/or Perl.
• Military Operations Analysis, wargaming, Modeling & Simulation experience in the defense industry, and/or data analysis & visualization.
   

Qualifications We Prefer

• Advanced Degree in STEM and/or specialized degree (Ops Research, Military Science/Military Studies, Intelligence Studies)
• Top Secret DoD clearance.
• Experience with Raytheon owned Modeling and Simulation tools (OpsTool or RCADE) or Government/Industry Modeling and Simulation tools (AFSIM, OneSAF, Brawler, STK).
• Experience with AI/ML and high-performance computing (HPC) grids.
• Experience in software development processes and object-oriented design using C/C++ and/or Java in either Unix or Linux computing environments.
• Knowledge of DoD and IC Mission Area
