A Brief Overview
Reporting directly to the Deputy Chief Financial Officer, this role is critical to understanding and articulating our financial results and setting the financial strategic direction of our organization. This leader will be instrumental in guiding our financial decisions, ensuring the alignment of our capital deployment with our corporate strategy, and fostering a data-driven culture across the organization.
What you will do
- Financial Analysis and Planning: lead the comprehensive analysis of current period results to understand their impact on future financial performance; direct the development of long-term financial forecasts and scenario analyses to guide strategic decision-making and oversee the creation of both historical and forward-looking (predictive) financial analysis to inform business strategies; identify opportunities to enhance the organization's financial performance and engage executive management to drive solutions
- Financial Modeling: direct the creation and maintenance of complex financial models to support strategic planning and investment decisions; utilize financial modeling to evaluate various business scenarios and their potential outcomes.
- Strategic Leadership: lead the strategic financial planning process, ensuring alignment with the company’s long-term goals and objectives; collaborate with senior leadership to develop and implement financial strategies that drive growth and profitability.
- Storytelling and Communication: translate complex financial data into clear, compelling narratives that support strategic initiatives; present financial insights and recommendations to executive leadership, board members, and other key stakeholders.
- Market and Competitive Analysis: monitor and analyze broader financial markets and competitive landscape within the insurance industry, both domestically and globally; provide insights on market trends, competitive positioning, and potential risks and opportunities.
- Team Leadership and Development: lead and mentor a high-performing team of financial analysts and strategic planners; foster a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and excellence within the team.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Arts/Sciences (BA/BS) Finance, Accounting, Economics, Actuarial Science, or a related field required
- Master’s degree in Arts/Sciences (MA/MS) MBA or other advanced degree preferred
- 15+ Years Financial planning and analysis, with a focus on strategic planning and financial modeling required and
- 10+ Years Insurance industry required and
- 10+ Years GAAP, Statutory and tax accounting and financial reporting experience required and
- 7+ Years People management required
- Proven track record of leadership in a senior financial role, within the insurance industry preferred
- Strong understanding of financial markets, competitive dynamics, and regulatory environment in the insurance sector. required
- Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills required
- Excellent communication and storytelling abilities, with the capacity to convey complex financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders required
- Deep understanding of both historical and forward-looking financial analysis, business insight and analytics, financial modeling, and the ability to craft compelling narratives that support financial insights required

Compensation Range:
$255,600.00 - $366,533.00 AnnualBase pay varies depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience and market location. In addition, RGA provides an annual bonus plan that includes all roles and some positions
