ABOUT NEUTRON

Neutron is a medium lift launch vehicle capable of delivering the mega constellations of tomorrow, high assurance payloads, and human spaceflight. As a highly reusable launch platform, Neutron will deliver a highly cost-effective and reliable launch solution leveraging Rocket Lab’s proven execution history with the Electron program.  Rocket Lab’s Neutron team is responsible for bringing our new large rocket Neutron and its launch and test sites to life. From designing and testing Neutron’s structures and components, to firing up its new Archimedes engines, to setting up Neutron’s launch pads and test sites across the United States, joining the Neutron team is your opportunity to help launch a new large rocket for the very first time! 

WHAT YOU'LL GET TO DO:

The primary responsibility of the Lead Manufacturing Engineer is to lead a team of Manufacturing Engineers. This team provides a centralised support function to the business with high value risk reduction and cost saving initiatives.

This position will work closely and develop strong relationships with Engineering, Supply Chain, Quality Engineering and Production Managers / Supervisors / Technicians.

Regular activities of the Lead Manufacturing Engineer include coaching junior members of the team on manufacturing best practices, developing and optimizing processes for production, and implement new processes through prototyping, test, and integration.

The Lead's role is to keep the wheels turning, unblocking ahead of time to keep the team moving. The team works to facilitate and optimize production and launch vehicle system tests for a high-growth production environment. Ensuring manufacturing principles are adhered to while meeting schedule timelines.
