Associate Fitness Editor

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Associate Fitness Editor will help to drive growth of Peloton’s owned editorial outlet, The Output, and develop content with specific traffic and engagement KPIs. They will work closely with the SEO team to produce fitness content that feeds into the editorial calendar. They will be a subject matter expert on all things fitness, from strength training, cycling, rowing, and running to yoga, Pilates, and more. They will also own the end-to-end production of those stories and work closely with the social media team to ensure content is promoted appropriately. This role will report to the Editorial Manager. 

YOUR DAILY IMPACT AT PELOTON

• Assist with the development of new freelance writers that bring unique perspectives to Peloton
• Pitch new story ideas based on SEO research, trends, and seasonality
• Assign, top-edit, and manage revision process of fitness stories using SEO research and best practices 
• Collaborate closely with the Fitness Editor to ensure thorough coverage of fitness topics relevant to potential Peloton Members
• Source imagery and brief creative to support stories
• Build blog posts in CMS
• Monitor performance of owned stories and identify areas for improvement
• Write blog posts as needed
• Optimize existing content for search
• Keep up to date on the latest research and trends in fitness
• Assist in the  promotion of owned stories on social channels

YOU BRING TO PELOTON

• 2+ years of experience in an editorial or content management role at a consumer-facing media outlet or brand
• BA in Journalism, Communications, English, or a related field
• Proven experience in top-editing and competence in copy editing
• Knowledgeable in the essentials of SEO writing
• Experience working in a CMS
• Experience using SEO tools such as SEMRush, Ahrefs, or similar
• Ability to think critically about story angles and trends to provide a thoughtful POV
• Unwavering high standards for content accuracy and thoroughness
• Deep passion and knowledge of fitness disciplines
• Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
• Personal training, group fitness, or yoga certification a plus

Base Salary: $81,800.00  to $106,400.00

The base salary range represents the low and high end of the anticipated salary range for this position based at our New York City headquarters. The actual base salary offered for this position will depend on numerous factors including individual performance, business objectives, and if the location for the job changes.
