Field Service Technician

POSITION OVERVIEW

dormakaba is seeking a Field Service Technician based in Columbia, MD This position will be responsible for the install and service of a variety of doors and related materials, equipment, and control devices.

 

This position may be available with a base pay range of $35/hr - $46/hr. (Pay rate to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.) Mandatory overtime as needed.

 

$2,000 Sign-on Bonus (details provided during interview)

 

WHAT YOU WILL DO

• Carry out corrective service and preventative maintenance on a range of equipment in a professional and customer-oriented manner
• Install dormakaba equipment in commercial buildings
• Service customer equipment to the customers’ ongoing satisfaction and setting minimum performance standards
• Project a customer service image through competent service procedures, professional personal presentation, and communication with all customers
• Maintain accurate service data through diligent and timely use of all service documentation and technical data
• Manage assigned parts and consumable stocks effectively

 

WHAT WE REQUIRE

• Valid current driver’s license
• Mechanical knowledge, 3+ years of relevant experience
• Understanding of mechanical and electrical equipment
• Ability to troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues

• Ability to lift and carry at least 50 pounds; 35 pounds over the shoulder. Frequent standing, stooping, crawling, twisting, bending, pushing, pulling, climbing and working overhead
• Ability to use power and manual tools.
• Ability to safely operate an assigned company vehicle.

 

WHAT WE PREFER

• Electrical license or knowledge of basic electronics and electrical theory, principles of microprocessor-controlled equipment and multi-meter instruments, or AAADM certification
