Job Description

Motorola Solutions is on a journey to drive unprecedented value through a data-driven culture. We are seeking an experienced Senior IT Business System Analyst (BSA) with expertise in BI Reporting Platform Administration to join our fast-paced and innovative Data and Analytics team. As a Senior BSA, you will be responsible for leading and growing our Enterprise Data Hub (EDH), Reporting and Analytics platform, ensuring platform-level solutions to meet the growing data and reporting needs across all business functions. This role requires a creative, enthusiastic, and persistent individual who is not afraid to try new approaches and learn from failures. This role would be part of the IT Data and Analytics organization. The selected candidate will support the ongoing Actionable Data Insight (ADI) program to build Enterprise Data Hub (EDH) using AWS Cloud technologies, AWS Redshift database, and Tableau, a visualization tool, help with EDH implementation, and its integrations with other applications. This specific position focuses on serving the Services and Software organizations, and Tableau architecture support at Motorola Solutions.

Scope of Responsibilities / Expectations:

• Analyze complex business problems and provide technical expertise in defining system functional specifications to address them effectively.

• Configure system settings and options, and design details of automated systems.

• Collaborate with IT Data Relationship Managers (DRMs) and developers to translate functional specifications into technical specifications.

• Drive tableau architecture reviews and ensure adherence to code standards, security protocols, and best practices.

• Drive standardization of functional and technical specification documents across all Data Relationship Managers (DRMs) supporting various business functions.

• Champion the standardization, building, and maintenance of the data dictionary and catalog using the Alation tool across all DRMs.

• Demonstrate cross-functional team leadership, collaborating with IT staff, development partners, consultants, and business stakeholders.

• Ensure proper ingestion of data from source systems according to architectural standards.

• Ensure seamless integration and coherence between the enterprise data hub and Tableau for effective data visualization.

• Provide technical guidance to the EDH Operations team in troubleshooting and resolving production issues related to data ingestion, reports, analytics, EDH, and Tableau environments.

• Continuously learn and analyze business processes to identify opportunities for efficiency improvement and reduction of manual work through technology.

• Work with the Tableau Reporting Environment, including Tableau Servers.

• Provide support and ongoing development for sites, projects, groups, and users in Tableau.

• Regularly test and apply upgrades to the Tableau platform.

• Troubleshoot issues related to data sources and connections.
