The Maritime Energy Systems Lead will be responsible for working across all Anduril Maritime products to identify energy demands, and manage development efforts to meet those needs. This individual will be responsible for maintaining and executing against the energy tech roadmap, progressing current energy systems forward through additional capability development efforts as well as certification efforts, including UN38.3 and NAVSEA 9310. The Maritime Energy Systems Lead will lead multi-disciplinary efforts, both internal and with third party vendors, and will be asked to be the technical authority on all energy systems used across Anduril Maritime products.

The Maritime Energy Systems Lead will need to facilitate effective technical development and integration that spans company-boundaries through an agile development approach in the context of a continuous integration/continuous deployment paradigm, while managing required testing and documentation in support of shipping and use certifications. They will need to balance development of new capabilities with the incorporation of several pre-existing Anduril capabilities and need to effectively communicate development status to Anduril internal stakeholders, partners, and customers.

The Maritime Energy Systems Lead, in conjunction with the Chief Engineer, Maritime, will assist in building out the necessary infrastructure for Anduril to execute on all necessary aspects of conceptualization, design, development, testing, and certification of multiple kinds of energy systems for the use across Anduril Maritime Division’s products as we grow rapidly and adapts to market needs.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Manage the development and maturation of energy storage systems through both internal development projects and external partnerships, providing technical leadership and management
  • Leverage strategic partnerships and teammates for building out new energy products to satisfy customer requirements in new and challenging mission areas
  • Provide technical expertise across multiple energy systems to advance Anduril Maritime product capabilities for both the commercial and defense market
  • Identify energy demands based on individual product roadmaps, find common technical specifications across multiple systems, and manage Anduril Maritime’s energy products to enable our products to continue to differentiate from the market based on endurance and safety
  • Provide maritime industry expertise to refine and advance the Anduril Maritime Division’s approach to powering our products
  • Constantly self-assess our energy solutions with an eye towards the future, enabling early identification and adaptation to new technologies in the energy space
  • Contribute technical inputs to proposals, including engineering execution plans, and spanning existing programs and customers. This includes fulfilling program requests for information and executing specific customer deliverables
  • Manage the generation, maintenance and validation of full system requirements
  • Provide oversight to a multi-disciplinary team of engineers through all phases of program execution up to and including delivery and operation of capabilities
  • Perform mission and system level trade studies and analysis to balance risk, cost, and performance

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience architecting, developing, designing, testing, and delivering to market cutting-edge, high-density energy storage systems for use in complex and harsh environments.
  • Demonstrated ability to decompose complex systems with competing objectives (e.g., performance, schedule, modularity, cost) into executable requirements, then delivering on those to meet customer demands
  • Ability to oversee technical development efforts and self-assess against key performance parameters and requirements across multiple engineering disciplines
  • Ability to develop and execute battery safety plans
  • Strong technical communication skills, providing the ability to deliver critical technical briefings and conclusions to technical leadership, company leadership, and cust
