Job Title: Assistant General Manager, Public School Food Services

Reports to: General Manager USDA 

Full Time: 52 Weeks

Pay Range: $62,000 – $72,000/ Yearly.

Job Overview: We are seeking a motivated and experienced Assistant General Manager to oversee daily operations in our school district’s food service department. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food service management, exceptional leadership skills, and a passion for promoting student nutrition and health.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist the General Manager in planning, directing, and coordinating the activities of the food service department.
• Oversee the preparation and delivery of meals across multiple schools, ensuring compliance with nutrition and safety standards.
• Manage staff, including hiring, training, and performance evaluation.
• Develop and implement policies and procedures to improve efficiency and quality of service.
• Collaborate with school administrators, teachers, and parents to promote participation in the school meal program.
• Monitor inventory levels and manage procurement of food supplies and equipment.
• Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations regarding school food service.
• Handle budgeting, forecasting, and financial management duties.
• Analyze meal service data to recommend improvements and adjustments to menus and operations.

Requirements

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in hospitality, Culinary Arts, Nutrition, Business Administration, or related field
• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in food service management, preferably in a school or institutional setting.
• Strong leadership and people management skills.
• Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities.
• Proficient in MS Office and food service management software.
• Knowledge of local, state, and federal regulations pertaining to public school food service.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with all stakeholders.
