Provides nursing care and support for a vulnerable population in an acute behavioral health setting. Performs nursing assessments, treatments, client education and health care service coordination to individuals in the acute level of care. The RN collaborates with all components of the interdisciplinary team and other health care agencies to ensure coordinated, comprehensive services.Major Responsibilities:
1. Utilizes the Nursing Process for the delivery and management of client’s care from Admission to Discharge, appropriate to the developmental age of the client population.
2. Performs client assessment /reassessment according to standard procedure.
3. Develops and coordinates with the interdisciplinary team on the individual plan of care including discharge planning.
4. Directs, supervises, coordinates and evaluates nursing care within the clinical setting.
5. Delegates appropriately to others in accordance with the job description and competency level.
6. Documents client care according to standard procedure.
7. Develops, implements/coordinates and documents education provided to client/family/significant other.
