Job Description
About the Power Plant Engineer Role:
Accelerate your career as a Power Plant Engineer at Chromalloy, where innovation meets excellence. The Power Plant Engineer is an integral part of the Engineering department at the San Diego site. Join our team and take on a diverse range of responsibilities to drive forward our gas turbine engine solutions.
The Impact you will have:
- Establish repair plans, optimize performance through engineering methods, and train mechanics and operators.
- Generate detailed investigation reports, control our ERP system, and monitor project progress.
- Manage tooling, evaluate technical data, implement improvements, and introduce lean and six sigma methodologies.
- Design, develop, test, and analyze cutting-edge gas turbine components and systems.
- Support quality control investigations, prioritize safety and uphold the highest quality standards.

Qualifications
If you have a bachelor’s degree or higher in Engineering and at least 5 years of experience in in a fast paced, collaborative Power Plant Engineer role, joining Chromalloy is a great career move! In addition to your education & experience, as a team player you will also have the following skills:
- 5+ years of experience in turbine engine/aircraft overhaul and aviation maintenance engineering, demonstrating an understanding of gas turbine engine principles, including test cell operations, vibration and failure analysis, and general engine overhaul and repair procedures.
- Proven experience performing maintenance on aircraft jet or gas turbine engines and components, showcasing your expertise in accurately interpreting blueprints and work in-process documents.
- Strong technical skills to write and interpret technical drawings and specifications, ensuring precision in your work.
- A keen eye for detail and a commitment to maintaining high production standards and quality.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, enabling effective collaboration with individuals at all levels of the organization.
- An FAA Power plant License would be highly desirable, demonstrating your commitment to excellence and regulatory compliance.

Salary Range: $114,000 - $165,000
