Pay Range: $70,000 – $80,000 annually (based on experience)
Position Summary
Southern Mechanical is seeking an experienced HVAC Superintendent to oversee the installation and execution of HVAC systems on multi-family construction projects. This position is responsible for managing daily field operations, supervising subcontracted labor, coordinating project schedules, ensuring quality workmanship, and maintaining compliance with safety standards and building codes.
The ideal candidate is a proactive leader with extensive field experience who can effectively coordinate crews, anticipate project needs, and keep projects on schedule and within budget.

Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate subcontracted HVAC installation crews
- Oversee all phases of HVAC installation, including underground rough-in, sleeve layout, top-out, and final installation
- Verify layout dimensions and measurements to ensure accuracy and quality
- Maintain daily field reports, labor tracking, and timekeeping using web-based software
- Track, receive, and manage project materials and inventory
- Forecast material requirements 2–3 weeks in advance to avoid project delays
- Coordinate with project managers, general contractors, and other trades to maintain project schedules
- Conduct weekly jobsite meetings, safety meetings, and toolbox talks
- Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, company safety policies, and applicable HVAC/building codes
- Monitor production, quality, and project progress while resolving field issues efficiently
- Assist in managing subcontracted plumbing labor as required
- Maintain accurate project documentation using project management software
Qualifications
Required
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as an HVAC Superintendent in commercial or multi-family construction.
- Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, installation methods, and applicable building codes.
- Experience managing multi-family construction projects.
- Proficiency with:
- Procore (or comparable construction management software)
- Raken
- Total Station
- Experience with:
- Underground rough-ins
- Sleeve layout
- Top-out coordination
- Material management and forecasting
