We provide a welcoming and accessible environment that is safe and supportive, and work with women and their children and single women to provide practical responses to meet individual needs.

We are welcoming and sensitive to the needs of people who often find it difficult to access and use services in times of crisis, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women.


The DFV Case Manager Refuge and outreach supports the development and implementation of client-led case plans to achieve the best outcomes for those seeking assistance for family violence who are living in refuge and who are in the community. The DFV Case Manager Refuge and Outreach works with women and their children who have escaped DFV enhancing their safety and recovery from gendered violence. The DFV Case Manager Refuge and Outreach strengthens working relationships and referral pathways with other organisations and contributes to DFV recovery for women and children

About the role 

We are currently seeking a compassionate and experienced Domestic Family Violence Case Manager – Refuge & Outreach to join our dedicated team. 

The Salvation Army Family Violence Stream provides a broad range of specialist programs supporting women, children, and single women who have experienced domestic and family violence (DFV). We provide welcoming, accessible, and culturally safe services that support recovery, empowerment, and connection to community. 

This is a full-time position is classified in accordance with the SCHADS Award Level 5.  

Due to the nature of this service, to identify as a woman is a genuine occupational qualification for this position under s.31 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1977 (NSW).  

How you will make an impact 

  • Provide welcoming and responsive support to women seeking assistance in refuge and community settings 
  • Deliver culturally safe and appropriate support to First Nations women and families 
  • Build strong therapeutic relationships that encourage self-determination and participation 
  • Undertake ongoing risk assessments, safety planning, and case management 
  • Develop and review individual case plans in partnership with clients 
  • Support clients to access housing, health, legal, financial, and community services 
  • Advocate on behalf of clients and strengthen referral pathways with external agencies 
  • Provide outreach support to women transitioning into stable accommodation 
  • Maintain accurate client records and case notes in line with organizational standards 
  • Participate in team meetings, supervision, training, and community engagement activities
