Job Description

•      Lead team, schedule, and train employees in client environment

•      Ensure adherence to highest quality and efficiency standards in laboratory operations

•      Foster morale and teamwork

·         Execution of discovery stage automated purifications using a variety of chromatographic techniques and AKTA FPLC system

·         Characterization of protein solutions using Agilent HPLC, SDS-Page or western blotting

·         Responsible for timely delivery & documentation of assay data and provide support for authoring study reports

The ideal candidate would possess :

· Strong computer, scientific, and organizational skills

· Analytical/Problem Solving Skills

· Excellent communication (oral and written) and attention to detail

· Ability to work independently and as part of a team, self-motivation, adaptability, and a positive attitude

· Ability to learn new techniques, perform multiple tasks simultaneously, keep timely and accurate records, follow instructions, ability to identify and implement operational and organizational improvements, and comply with company policies and GLP processes, while delivering the highest standard of quality data

· Experience with protein solutions and protein chromatography analytical characterization

General Lab tasks will include: maintaining inventories, preparing solutions and buffer based protein purification, AKTA system cleaning, column packing and cleaning in place, performing routine analytical measurements (pH, UV-Vis, HPLC), maintaining an electronic lab notebook

Qualifications

· Bachelor's degree in chemistry, biochemistry, biology, immunology, cell biology, molecular biology, or other related degree concentration, or equivalent directly-related experience (two years of directly related industry experience is equivalent to one full-time year of college in related major) in addition to at least 2 years of experience.

· Experience with protein purification and chromatography

· Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship

Additional Information

Position is full-time, Monday-Friday, from 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM.  Candidates currently living in a commutable distance to Indianapolis, IN are encouraged to apply.
