Summary:

The Supervisor Patient Financial Services role is a leadership position within Altru, focusing on ensuring that patients and their families have access to financial support programs and resources, and encompasses overseeing various departments and functions related to financial clearance, counseling, and payment management.

1 year of customer service experience required
1 year of management, revenue cycle, knowledge in payment posting, and billing experience preferred

Essential Job Functions:

  • Advises leadership on financial performance, monitors budget compliance, and works with the Manager on fiscal management, policy creation, and staff management.

  • Collaborates with the trainer to create tools for staff training, assists with bedside registration, and participates in process improvements and training.

  • Oversees the collection activities for patient accounts receivables, evaluates collection strategies, and ensures compliance with policies and procedures.

  • Works on the development, testing, and implementation of patient accounting systems, as well as optimizing processes for efficiency and accuracy.

  • Tracks trends such as denials, analyzes data, and shares insights for process improvements. Communicates with clinical staff to ensure financial assistance when necessary.

  • Identifies financial assistance programs for patients and helps them apply for those programs. Coordinates with social services and other teams to secure assistance.

  • Works with patients to secure payment or payment arrangements, ensuring they are informed of financial obligations. Communicates with third-party vendors and other stakeholders to facilitate timely payments.

  • Performs other duties as needed, such as ensuring staffing and scheduling, managing technical issues, and representing the department in various meetings.

Certification:

  • Certified Application Counselor (CAC) | Health Insurance Marketplace | Within 12 Months of Start Date | Employee Provides HR a Copy

  • Driver's License with Acceptable Driving Record | Driver's License - Current State Licensed | Prior to Start Date | HR Primary Sources

Education:

• Preferred: Bachelors - Related Field
