Overview:

TP-Link Systems Inc. is seeking an experienced Board-Level Hardware Design Engineer to join our systems engineering team. In this role, you will support consumer network and electronic products, such as routers and IPCs, you will conduct needs analysis and design feasibility assessments, completing hardware architecture designs and reviews in the early stages of projects. You will then lead the system and board-level design and development of innovative hardware solutions, including low-power supply modules, network switching modules, audio and video modules, and more. This role will involve analog circuit design, RF circuit design, signal integrity design, and more.

In addition, you will mentor junior engineers and contribute to the product direction of our hardware projects. This position requires deep technical expertise in electronics and a proven track record of successful product launches.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the development of new product ideas by brainstorming and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with market needs and technical feasibility.
  • Provide comprehensive feasibility assessment reports and technical solutions to meet product requirements, considering factors such as cost, performance, and manufacturability.
  • Lead the design and development of complex hardware systems, ensuring adherence to specifications, project timelines, and budget constraints while managing risks throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Complete architecture design, schematic design, key component selection and evaluation, and BOM preparation for embedded hardware, ensuring quality assurance through final project acceptance.
  • Collaborate closely with the PCB design department to assist in completing PCB layouts and wiring and follow up on prototype production to verify design intent.
  • Conduct hardware testing for modules or complete versions, producing detailed hardware test reports and related technical documents through reviews, including design validation and verification plans.
  • Follow up on production processes, providing necessary technical guidance and support to manufacturing teams, and creating standardized production documents to ensure smooth operations while promptly resolving technical issues.
  • Ensure product compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements, such as FCC, CE, and RoHS, by preparing and submitting necessary documentation.
  • Continuously optimize existing products by enhancing functionality, performance, and cost management, and take responsibility for troubleshooting and maintenance throughout the product lifecycle, including updates and revisions.
  • Stay current with industry trends, technological advancements, and best practices, incorporating them into product designs and development processes to maintain a competitive edge.
  • Lead and guide junior engineers in hardware design, development, and integration by providing technical leadership, mentorship, and support to foster their professional growth and ensure project success. Additionally, be responsible for the technical training of the hardware team.
  • Participate in design reviews and cross-functional meetings, offering insights and recommendations to improve product designs and processes.
  • Document design processes, decisions, and changes thoroughly to ensure knowledge transfer and continuity within the engineering team.

Requirements

Required Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 7 years of experience in hardware design and development, with at least 3 years in a senior-level position.
  • Extensive knowledge of analog and digital circuit design principles.
  • Proficient with schematic capture, layout design, and review.
  • Strong experience with voltage regulators, LDOs, and switching power supply application design.
