Purpose
Collaborating with University subject matter experts, this position will create and deliver comprehensive training programs for administrative staff and supervisors within the college’s departments and research units. Must be eligible to work in the US on a full time basis for any employer without sponsorship.
Responsibilities
Manage a professional development series designed for CNS emerging leaders and managers within the college. Adapt existing materials as well as create new materials using a variety of delivery methods.
Create an assessment tool and collaborate with CNS managers to identify existing and future gaps in knowledge and skills needed for proficiency and productivity for new-in-position HR and Finance employees. Serve as training liaison to CNS departments and units, assisting in the development of unit-specific training initiatives.
Develop and manage a master training calendar for the College of Natural Sciences, including job-specific HR and Finance training. Utilize existing university resources while also incorporating newly developed materials to ensure that staff are properly trained in the use of administrative systems. Create and maintain online resources for CNS administrative staff and supervisors. Monitor program effectiveness of training materials and staff experience, making adjustments as necessary to ensure continuous improvement.
Collaborate and maintain strong working relationships with other campus training and L&D entities. Assist with the coordination and implementation of special projects as assigned by the Dean’s Office and/or leadership team. Represent CNS on campus-wide committees related to training and systems enhancements.
Coordinate a monthly new employee orientation for new CNS staff. Develop professional training and programming for staff. Recommend new policies and procedures for improvement of program activities as needed.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree and eight years of experience developing and conducting training programs for adult learners. Familiarity and experience with available technologies for creating and delivering training classes. Ability to convey technical information to a non-technical audience. Demonstrated ability in analyzing data to determine training needs, implementing a plan, and assessing effectiveness. Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a complex organization with multiple constituencies. Demonstrated excellent written, oral and presentation skills, as well as a customer-focused approach to problem solving. Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.
Preferred Qualifications
Proficiency with commonly used business applications (i.e., Workday) and financial systems at the University of Texas at Austin. Previous work experience in financial, accounting, and/or human resources disciplines.
Salary Range
$75,000 + DOE
