The HD is responsible for supervising student staff, implementing community-building initiatives, and managing operational responsibilities to create a thriving and supportive living-learning environment. GENERAL STATEMENT OF THE FUNCTION

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
Required Qualifications:
- Associate’s degree in a related field.
- 1-2 years of experience in residence life, student engagement, or related higher education fields.
- Proven leadership and mentorship experience with diverse student populations.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Higher Education, Counseling, or related discipline.
- Experience supervising and developing student staff.
- Familiarity with crisis response, facilities management, and residential programming models.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Key Responsibilities:
- Leadership & Supervision: Recruit, train, and supervise Resident Assistants and Desk Assistants; facilitate staff meetings and evaluations; lead student leadership initiatives like RHA.
- Community Engagement: Foster a welcoming environment, plan educational programs, maintain visibility in the hall, and collaborate with campus partners.
- Crisis Response: Serve in on-call rotation; respond to student emergencies and incidents; maintain accurate documentation; support student wellbeing.
- Administrative Management: Oversee Hall operations including occupancy, safety, policy enforcement, desk management, and summer programs.
- Communication & Inclusion: Maintain professional communication with students, families, and staff; support diversity and inclusion through programs and daily interactions.
- Maintain knowledge of diversity-related issues, legislation, and best practices.
- Other duties may be assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Supervise and mentor Resident Assistants (RAs) and Desk Assistants to ensure operational excellence and leadership development.
