Position Summary

The Head Cheerleading Coach is responsible for all aspects of the cheerleading program including: the conduct of practices, supervision and direction of team, the coaching of the team members, the recruitment and retention of the team members and representing the University of Denver, its mission, vision and values of the athletics programs.

This is a non-benefited, part-time position not to exceed 1,000 hours in a calendar year. 

Required Qualifications 

  • Undergraduate degree
  • AACCA Cheerleading Safety Course | USA Cheer Certification
  • 2 years minimum of cheerleader coaching experience
  • Proven leadership & supervision experience
  • Motivational and organizational skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • CPR/First Aid Certification (will assist with certification if candidate does not currently have updated certification.)
  • Experience as a collegiate cheerleader and experience as a supervisor

Work Schedule

Work schedule will vary depending on varsity sports schedules, including evenings and weekends as required.

Primary work hours will be August through May of each year.

Hourly Range

The hourly range for this position is 18.29- $25.00.

The University of Denver has provided a compensation range that represents its good faith estimate of what the University may pay for the position at the time of posting. The University may ultimately pay more or less than the posted compensation range. The compensation offered to the selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as the qualifications of the selected candidate, departmental budget availability, internal salary equity considerations, and available market information, but not based on a candidate’s sex or any other protected status.
