Production Planner

OVERVIEW

Perfetti Van Melle (makers of Mentos, Airheads, Dentyne, Trident and Bubblicious!) is one of the world's largest manufacturers and distributors of confectionery and chewing gum with global brands that are being enjoyed in more than 150 countries worldwide. We’re currently seeking an enthusiastic Production Planner to join our growing team.  

WHAT YOU WILL DO

The Senior Production Planner develops a schedule based off of the rough-cut capacity process (forecast) in coordination with procurement, demand planning teams, warehouse, quality & production team to achieve optimal planning and manufacturing execution. Responsible for ensuring that the supply chain is efficient and effective throughout the organization at the plant level.  Assisting inventory health to allow for accurate planning of raw and packaging materials. Additional responsibilities include:

• Develop, plan & manage the detailed finite daily/weekly production schedule to optimize output at minimum scrap levels through change over management.  Provides line priorities to all stakeholders.
• Analyze through SAP bulk and raw material inventory against planned usage.
• Weekly reporting regarding production numbers, stock development and hours used in production for the week.  Collaboration of these reports will be completed through the utilization of various systems.
• Responsible for the maintenance of the master data required for control and monitoring of production activities, inventory recording, & performance.
• Participates in activities with various departments, supply chain, production, and P&T, to ensure the success of manufacturing goals and objectives.
• Ensure optimal capacity and production planning in accordance with the requirements of production, forecast data and related procedures. Provide permanent insight into the needs and available production capacity.  
• Actively participate in Perfetti Performance Excellence (PPE) and the PMOS (Performance Management Operating System).  Identify FMI (Fuelling Margin Improvements) projects, ways of working, etc. to deliver our financial commitments and drive out losses.

WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU

• Minimum: High School Diploma
• 5+ years combined related work experience in manufacturing, with warehouse and inventory control knowledge. Food manufacturing background is a plus.
• Intimate working knowledge of SAP, planning, master data, traceability, inventory management, financial reconciliation, etc. Experience transitioning to new versions of SAP and related modules preferred.
• Must have strong leadership skills and interpersonal skills with the ability to professionally and effectively communicate both orally and in writing.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, SharePoint as well as SAP and or other MRP related planning and warehouse management systems.
• Working knowledge of Just In Time (JIT) and other Lean Manufacturing techniques and processes.
• Must be able to prepare reports analyzing productivity and labor – detail oriented.
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects/activities/programs simultaneously and easily adapt to changing situations and handle daily emergencies.
• Ability to make decisions guided by policies, procedures and technical knowledge that impact the company’s ability to meet performance and compliance objectives.
• Must have a good temperament to work with varying stakeholders and remain composed under pressure.
• On-Site Role – need to be able to flex schedule (off-shifts, weekends) as the business requires – available 24/7
