Summary: Responsible for a book of business by means of servicing and cross selling personal lines accounts.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Process daily mail, including faxes and e-mail, for assigned accounts.
- Answer and process all telephone requests for assigned accounts.
- Enter all required data into TAM to maintain current file data on all assigned accounts.
- Review new applications, renewal requests and endorsements for adherence to underwriting authority and guidelines as established by the company’s carriers.
- Underwriting, rating and generating new business.
- Renewal marketing including, but not limited to rating and quoting assigned personal lines risks.
- Prepare and process binders of insurance, policies, endorsements, certificates of insurance, audits, and cancellations as defined in the company procedures’ manual.
- Validate coverage and ratings policies, endorsements, audits, cancellations, etc.
- Maintain suspense or follow-up system for correspondence/requests.
- Prepare billings and/or invoices on a timely basis.
- Advise accounting of the appropriate posting of moneys received on assigned accounts.
- Assist in the collection of premiums and audits as defined in the procedures manual.
- Maintain up to date knowledge of the various carriers’ rating plans, programs and underwriting.
- Perform clerical functions including, but not limited to submitting and sending faxes, proofreading and photocopying documents.
- Perform any other duties as may be assigned.
Skills/ Abilities:
- Good technical knowledge of coverage in all personal lines insurance coverage
- Good verbal and written English communication skills
- Strong negotiation and problem solving skills
- Good organization and prioritizing skills
- Ability to initiate and foster client rapport
Required Qualifications:
- Must have and maintain a current Property & Casualty Agent license for the state of Georgia.
- Two years of personal lines insurance experience
Computer Skills:
- Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, Access)
- Familiar with TAM (The Agency Management System)
- Rating software – EZ Lynx
