Summary: Responsible for a book of business by means of servicing and cross selling personal lines accounts.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Process daily mail, including faxes and e-mail, for assigned accounts.
  • Answer and process all telephone requests for assigned accounts.
  • Enter all required data into TAM to maintain current file data on all assigned accounts.
  • Review new applications, renewal requests and endorsements for adherence to underwriting authority and guidelines as established by the company’s carriers.
  • Underwriting, rating and generating new business.
  • Renewal marketing including, but not limited to rating and quoting assigned personal lines risks.
  • Prepare and process binders of insurance, policies, endorsements, certificates of insurance, audits, and cancellations as defined in the company procedures’ manual.
  • Validate coverage and ratings policies, endorsements, audits, cancellations, etc.
  • Maintain suspense or follow-up system for correspondence/requests.
  • Prepare billings and/or invoices on a timely basis.
  • Advise accounting of the appropriate posting of moneys received on assigned accounts.
  • Assist in the collection of premiums and audits as defined in the procedures manual.
  • Maintain up to date knowledge of the various carriers’ rating plans, programs and underwriting.
  • Perform clerical functions including, but not limited to submitting and sending faxes, proofreading and photocopying documents.
  • Perform any other duties as may be assigned.

Skills/ Abilities:

  • Good technical knowledge of coverage in all personal lines insurance coverage
  • Good verbal and written English communication skills
  • Strong negotiation and problem solving skills
  • Good organization and prioritizing skills
  • Ability to initiate and foster client rapport

Required Qualifications: 

  • Must have and maintain a current Property & Casualty Agent license for the state of Georgia.
  • Two years of personal lines insurance experience

Computer Skills:

  • Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, Access)
  • Familiar with TAM (The Agency Management System)
  • Rating software – EZ Lynx
