Job Description:
The Department of Agricultural Education and Studies at Iowa State University located in Ames, Iowa in collaboration with the Iowa FFA Association, seeks an Executive Director of the Iowa FFA Association. This person is responsible for the day-to-day management and operation of state-level FFA operations, programs, and events. This position is critical to the overall success of the Association and must strive to demonstrate and instill the Team Ag Ed Collective commitments as part of all personal and professional interactions. The Team Ag Ed Collective Commitments are: Engage in the delivery of the Three Component Model; Create an inviting environment where all can flourish Work collaboratively; ethically and professionally Take action, follow through, and deliver results
Responsibilities include:
Plan, organize, and direct of the organization’s operations, programs and events.
Provide leadership of site staff and volunteers to ensure organizational goals are met in accordance with Team Ag Ed Collective Commitments.
Act as a mentor to members of the Youth Board .
Develop and implement consistent operational procedures and performance metrics.
Oversee the preparation of timely and accurate financial reports, and provide regular distribution or presentation to the Iowa FFA Association Board of Directors.
Coordinate and lead annual budget preparation and presentation to the Board, present quarterly financial reports, periodic budget variance reviews, and other reports and information, as needed.
Develop and execute communication strategies for stakeholders to ensure ongoing participation and growth of Statewide FFA Programs .
Collaborate with members of Team Ag Ed, and other colleagues to fulfill the Collective Commitments.
Supervise the work of FFA Program Coordinator and any student interns.
Other duties as assigned.
Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. on an on-going basis without sponsorship.

• Has full management responsibility for direct reports, specifically the authority to hire, fire, and counsel; may share part of responsibility with higher level management
• Requests approval for financial actions beyond a limited scope per policy
