Job Description:
The Manager, Enterprise Supply Chain Management (SCM) leads a high-performing Team of sourcing and procurement professionals responsible for securing many of the goods and services that keep Southwest Airlines running. From onboard food and beverage to uniforms, facilities, and Marketing agreements, this role oversees strategic, analytic, and operational workstreams to drive value, quality, and efficiency across the enterprise. By partnering closely with Internal Customers and key stakeholders like Legal and Insurance, the Manager ensures contracts are thoughtfully negotiated, supplier relationships are well-managed, and business needs are met with excellence. This role is a critical contributor to Southwest’s operational success and a champion of our commitment to smart, People-focused procurement.

- Communicate and promote SCM goals and initiatives through extensive relationship development
- Executes sourcing and contracting strategies across the assigned commodities and categories while supporting process optimization, policy enforcement, compliance initiatives and continuous improvement efforts.
- Manage and optimize processes for data intake, validation, and mining as well as modeling, visualization, and communication deliverables
- Follow the elements of the supplier selection matrix and recommend supplier selections
- Identify and collect cost saving initiatives, cost avoidance, and cost deferral opportunities
- Create and implement project or work plans for assigned categories and develop measurable KPI's
- Execute project plans, establish timelines, align resources, motivate team members and drive successful accountability; evaluate the progress toward achieving these goals and continuously re-prioritizes efforts accordingly
- Develop mitigation responses and strategies to address project risks
- Support development and implementation of new tools and technologies to drive operational efficiencies and support strategic planning
- Develop presentations, reporting, and status updates for relevant Stakeholders
- Ensure supplier compliance with contracts, corporate standards, policies, and regulatory requirements
- Liaise with General Counsel to develop comprehensive best practice Company-wide policies
- Utilize the vendor performance scorecard and provide regular feedback to suppliers on performance opportunities
- May perform other job duties as directed by Employee’s Leaders
- Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources modeling, leadership technique, production methods, and coordination of people and resources
- Knowledge of economic and accounting principles and practices, the financial markets, banking and the analysis and reporting of financial data
