We offer an internship opportunity within our Global Statistics and Data Management (GSTDM) department where you will have the freedom and space for your own initiative.</span><br/> </p><p><b><span>Intern – Biostatistics – Global Statistics and Data Management</span></b></p><p><br/><b><span>Welcome to our team</span></b><br/><span>The GSTDM department is an essential hub in our organization. This department is focused on providing statistical and data management support in the research, development (R&D) and registration of vaccines and pharmaceutical products for animals around the globe. The team in Boxmeer, the Netherlands consists of 3 statisticians and 1 Data Manager employees, all of whom have extensive knowledge and experience in the industry The team works closely with other departments within the company to achieve the stated goals.</span></p><p><br/><b><span>Your internship assignment</span></b><br/><span>As an intern, you will be responsible for independently analyzing datasets from project(s) that plays key role in achieving company R&D goals under our ways of working. In addition, you will have opportunity to contribute new ideas in vaccine study designs, participate in data collection, data cleaning, analyzing datasets and reporting of clinical studies and contribute to ongoing projects.</span></p><p><br/><b><span>Your responsibilities</span></b><span> </span></p><ul><li><p>Collaborate with researchers on the study design and analysis of their experiments and interpret results.</p></li><li><p>Assist in analyzing animal-level data, specific projects may include the analysis of genetic data related to Equine Influenza Virus strains.</p></li><li><p>Utilize statistical software (e.g., R, Python, or SAS) to perform data analysis and visualization.</p></li><li><p>Conduct literature reviews to support research findings and methodologies.</p></li><li><p>Prepare reports and presentations summarizing statistical analyses and findings.</p></li><li><p>Participate in team meetings and contribute to discussions on research strategies.</p></li><li><p>Providing a fresh perspective to the department by sharing your opinion, knowledge and ideas.</p></li></ul><p></p><p><span>The tasks described form the basic package and will often be performed independently after a proper training and learning period. These tasks may be supplemented with other projects and/or tasks on your own initiative or at the request of the organization.</span></p><p></p><p><b><span>What is required</span></b></p><ul><li><p><span>Currently enrolled in a master’s program in statistics, biostatistics, or related field</span></p></li><li><p><span>Strong understanding of statistical concepts and methodology</span></p></li><li><p><span>Proficient in statistical software (e.g., SAS, R, Python)</span></p></li><li><p><span>Experience with data analysis and interpretation</span></p></li><li><p><span>Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal</span></p></li><li><p><span>Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.</span></p></li><li><p><span>Experience in biological or epidemiological research and familiarity with concepts in antigenic distance and vaccine efficacy is a plus.</span></p></li><li><p><span>Available for a period of 6 months for 4 - 5 days per week</span></p></li></ul><p></p><p><b><span>What we offer</span></b><br/><span>Interning at our company means working together with your team towards health in an international work environment.
