Senior Analyst - Asbestos

Intertek PSI, is searching for a Senior Analyst - Asbestos to join our Building & Construction team in our Pittsburgh, PA office.  This is a fantastic opportunity to grow a versatile career in the architectural, engineering, and construction (A/E/C) industry!

The Senior Analyst - Asbestos is responsible for sample processing, preparation, and analysis, reporting, QA/QC responsibilities, customer communication and support, process improvement, and operation and quality oversight.

What you’ll do:

• Sample Processing and Preparation
• Sample Analysis and Reporting- Phase Contrast Microscopy (PCM), Polarized Light Microscopy (PLM), and potentially Transmission Electron Microscopy (TEM)
• Utilize the LIMS
• QA/QC activities; ensuring compliance with standards and accrediting bodies
• Process improvement
• Proficiency testing
• Operation and quality oversight
• Provide technical support and recommendations for clients and other staff members
• Maintain laboratory inventory, efficiency, organization, and cleanliness

What it takes to be successful in this role:

• Bachelor's degree required; Geology strongly preferred
• Minimum 5 years of environmental/ industrial hygiene laboratory experience required
• Leadership experience strongly preferred
• Familiarity with AIHA and NVLAP preferred
• Strong technical reading and writing skills
• Experience using a LIMS
• Computer proficiency (especially Adobe and Microsoft programs) required
• PLM experience required; McCrone training preferred
