Licensed Practical Nurse - Charter House - LPN

We are looking for passionate and dedicated licensed practical nurses (LPN) to join our team. Responsibilities of the LPN role include:
- Providing direct care duties under the delegation of a registered nurse or nurse manager.
- Monitoring the nursing care provided by professional and ancillary nursing personnel.
- Assisting the registered nurse with data collection in collaboration with the resident, family and/r significant others and the interdisciplinary health care team to meet the care, educational and discharge needs.
- Adhering to Standards of Clinical Nursing Practice and Nurse Practice Act.
*This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship; Also, Mayo Clinic DOES NOT participate in the F-1 STEM OPT extension program.
To be considered for the LPN position, you must meet the following requirements:
- Graduate of a school of practical nursing or passed LPN Boards after a defined period in a professional nursing program (e.g., some states allow RN students to take the LPN board exam after completing one to two years in the RN program).
*If graduation did not occur within the last two years, one year of LPN experience working in an applicable setting is required.
License / Certification
- Active Licensed Practical Nurse license issued by the Minnesota Board of Nursing
- Active Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) for Health Care Providers Certification (must come from one of the following providers: American Heart Association, Red Cross, or Military Training Network).
Additional Qualifications
- One year of work experience in Long Term Care or Home Health or two years of acute care nursing is preferred.
- Must be able to work in collaboration with others.
- Requires good communication and human relation skills to interact with Health Service and Charter House staff.
- Strong problem-solving skills are necessary with the ability to collect, compare, sort and prioritize information to be used in the decision-making process for groups of resident and employees.
- Must be able to adapt to unpredictable situations and stress.
- Works flexible hours which may include days, evenings, nights, holidays and weekends.

International Degrees:
- A detailed equivalency evaluation is required, demonstrating a U.S. equivalent degree.
- Evaluation must be completed by an organization listed as a member of the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services (NACES) (www.naces.org) or the Association of International Credential Evaluators, Inc. (AICE) (www.aice-eval.org).
