Summary of Job Duties:

The Department of Psychological Science invites applicants for a full-time, nine-month tenure-track Assistant Professor position beginning August 2026. UA Little Rock is a doctoral-intensive metropolitan university serving a diverse student body of approximately 10,000 full- and part-time students. The Department of Psychological Science houses one of the largest undergraduate degree programs at UALR with about 600 active majors, state-of-the-art classrooms, and both flexible and fixed laboratory resources (e.g., statistics, developmental, user experience and AI, and cognition, financial stress and health laboratories.) Support for faculty and student-engaged research and the pursuit of extramural funding is possible. Qualifications:

Required Education and Experience:

• Ph.D. in Psychology, ABD considered.

Preferred Education and Experience:

• A focus in one of the following: Human Factors, Emotion and Motivation, Learning, Psychometrics, Quantitative Psychology, or Human Experimental Psychology.

• Experience teaching Psychological Statistics and Research Methods in Psychology.

• Existing scholarship in area of expertise.

Job Duties and/or Responsibilities:

• Teaching to include courses in Statistics and Research Methods; 

• Exhibit a commitment to writing in the discipline;

• Engage in research and scholarship activities;

• Supervise student research and internships;

• Advise students in the major;

• Participate in service activities in the program, college, university, and the Little Rock community.
