Anticipated Hiring Amount: $104,186 - $110,250 annually (Commensurate with experience)
Work Hours: Monday – Friday 8:00 am-5:00 pm, unless otherwise notified

THE DEPARTMENT:
Care Services is a key component of the Campus Health and Wellbeing Cluster within the Division of Student Affairs at Cal Poly Pomona, embodying the University's commitment to holistic and preventative approaches to student wellbeing. In alignment with the University's mission and strategic goals, we are dedicated to creating a supportive space where students can flourish both academically and personally. Care Services is the first point of contact for students in distress or of concern. We connect students to essential resources, provide advocacy, and support them through crises support. Our comprehensive Basic Needs services include Health and Wellness products, education, and resources, Mental Health Support Coordination, Housing and Financial Support, Food and Clothing Resources. By offering these diverse services, we aim to empower students, normalize the seeking of support, and build a community that prioritizes care, compassion, and student success.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Education & Outreach Administration
- Provide effective administrative leadership, supervision, and budget management for Care Services, health promotion and wellness programming, outreach, and education efforts within the Care Center and Bronco Wellness.
- Supervise full-time and student staff within the Care Center including Case Managers, Health Educators, Coordinators, and peer health educators.
- Participate in the development and implementation of goals, objectives, policies, and priorities for the areas of oversight; recommend, within program policy, appropriate service levels and resources; recommend and administers policies and procedures.
- Design, direct, and implement services including but not limited to basic needs resources and health education programs.
- Develop and standardize procedures and methods to improve and continuously monitor the efficiency and effectiveness of the areas of oversight, service delivery methods, and procedures; assess and monitor workload, administrative and support systems, and internal reporting relationships; identify opportunities for improvement and makes recommendations to the Director of Care Services.
Support and sustain a campus-wide culture of care model that identifies and assists students who are struggling to cope with the myriad complex challenges of university life.
- Participate as a back-up member of the Students of Concern Team and collaborate on action plan to address concern.
- Analyze trends in service utilization and program outcomes; develops and implements innovative care models, service delivery and prevention initiatives based on findings, in consultation and collaboration with campus stakeholders.
- Develop and provide culturally relevant training related to care services, health promotion, and student wellness.
- Establish and maintain relationships with community leaders and public/private agencies to encourage participation, stimulate interest, and coordinate campus projects with assigned programs and activities.
- Oversee grant activities and external funding opportunities related to Care Services and health promotion including developing grant proposals in conjunction with the Director of Care Services that meet funding agency requirements and priorities, writing the grant narrative and completing all required forms and documents, ensuring all reporting requirements are met, and establishing and maintaining contact with funding agency personnel and potential grant partners.
- Identify external opportunities for partnership and funding to support programs and services related to student wellbeing.
- Oversee assessment efforts for all health and wellness programming and outreach efforts.
- Implements selected recommendations for improvement and augmentation of the current services, particularly new initiatives.
