The Role:

Our facility in Round Rock, TX is seeking a highly motivated Sr. Engineer, Systems Engineering who thrives in a fast-paced environment where safety, quality and continuous improvement are paramount. You will be a key player on a dynamic New Product Development team to oversee the development, deployment, and support of various delivery systems in the company’s Advanced Deposition Materials group. 

Challenges will vary depending on the industry needs which will require innovation and multi-faceted solutions. This role will include direct interaction with a broad range of global senior, technical and functional management, and subject matter experts throughout the organization and at contract manufacturers. This role may also include frequent customer interaction while working with the Entegris field service team for support.

Travel of up to 30%, both domestically & internationally, is required for this role.
 

What You’ll Do:

• Collaborate with Marketing and technical leaders for definition of new gas delivery system requirements, designs and modifications that meet customer requirements (IDM and OEM customers) 

• Develop and scale up R&D equipment and processes to HVM sublimation equipment  

• System documentation including P&IDs, installation manuals, PFDs, troubleshooting guides, etc.   

• Technical leader and coordinator between cross functional engineering groups including Mechanical, Controls and Process engineers and between cross departmental groups including field service, product management, account management and leadership teams.  

• Subject matter expert on solid delivery systems responsible for functional testing, troubleshooting and report-outs to senior management 

• Participate in system start-ups and system troubleshooting, and work with contract manufacturers on design transfers/improvements 

What We Seek:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Chemistry, Materials Science or similar technical field or related experience is required. A master’s degree in a technical field and/or an MBA is a plus. 

• Demonstrated experience (5-7+ years) of increasing responsibilities within a global, multicultural, multi-location organization serving the semiconductor industry. 

• Excellent electrical, mechanical and software troubleshooting skills on complex systems. Troubleshooting experience includes: Vacuum systems, Temperature control systems, PLC/HMI troubleshooting, Ethernet/EtherCAT communication protocols  
• Excellent analytical and organizational skills, including the proven ability to adapt to a dynamic work environment and manage multiple activities (over time).  

• A global perspective with the ability to understand and work effectively in a culturally diverse organization. 

• Travel, both domestically and internationally, will be required to support new and existing solid delivery systems. 

• Accessible by laptop computer and cell phone for occasional use during off hours. 

• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Project), and JMP 

• Familiarity SAP experience 

• Proficient in written and verbal English 

Outstanding Candidates Will Have: 

• Experience designing and maintaining complicated PLC control systems or delivery systems.  

• Experience troubleshooting complicated temperature controlled, vacuum systems at customer sites. 

• Experience in training technicians and engineers, locally and globally 

• Experience in semiconductor processing and thin film deposition (ie. ALD, or CVD processes) 

• Demonstrated expertise in new product phase gate activities 

• Direct experience on support equipment or tools in the semiconductor industry. 

• Demonstrated innovation or intellectual property experience 

• Experience with FMEA processes and designing best practices
