Senior Fullstack Engineer

Are you an experienced lead fullstack engineer with excellent Java and JS skills (lit-htlm/web components) who will take ownership of our solution in the web channel to offer the best user experience for our business customers? 

We are looking for an engineer with modern day engineering skills and competences like an eye for innovation, creativity, attention to details and communication. You will also be a mentor and help leading the other developers in the team to the next proficiency level.

The team

We are responsible for developing and maintaining the Foreign Exchange product in our digital channels, offering a best-in-class digital experience to our business customers. Based on the product roadmap, client feedback and data, we continuously seek to improve the platform experience and expand our product offering in close collaboration with other feature teams. We are empowering our business customers to stay a step ahead by enabling them to make use of the OneWeb and OneApp banking platform.

Role & Responsibilities

You will be working in a DevOps squad in Business Banking. With the squad you are end-to-end responsible for the customer journey you are working on. You own the stack and the journey!
 

Your daily work will consist of: 

• Taking the lead in future development of the product

• Leading technical refinements

• Writing stories with acceptance criteria 

• Coding

• Reviewing 

• Testing

• Building and deploying  

• Monitoring

• Set-up collaborations with other squads and work together with them
   

Besides your role, you enjoy giving presentations and workshops, and you know how to explain complex technical concepts to non-techies. You will challenge existing concepts and ideas in order to develop faster or to improve the customer experience.  

How to succeed

• First and foremost, you need to be a strong coder, have an interest in IT security, and develop with reliability in mind.

• You are an experienced engineer with more than 5 years of experience in Java development using Spring(boot). Ideally you have experience with Azure DevOps including Azure Pipelines, Kubernetes, OpenShift, Cassandra and Kafka.

• Having JavaScript frontend engineering skills is a must.

• You have great analytical skills and conceptual understanding.

• You are able to quickly understand new technical concepts and technology and you have a strong interest in, and vision of, the latest trends in software development and technology.

• You will act as a lead and mentor towards the other developers in your squad.

• You will act as a lead on technical topics towards the Product Owner and our external stakeholders.

• You are comfortable with the unknown and connect easily with other colleagues outside the squad to refine the unknown.

• When working on a story you can determine impact on other things and pro-actively explain that to others.

• You have a high quality standard when it comes to the output of you work.
   

You must be a true team player. You will work in a multidisciplinary team of engineers and business colleagues. You speak up, are transparent and not shy to stand up for your own opinions. You have an instinctive need to share knowledge and continuously improve yourself and the team.
