Position Overview:

Serves as the senior individual contributor responsible for end-to-end ownership of Sutter Health’s Inclusion & Belonging (IB) program portfolio, with primary accountability for Sutter Employee Resource Groups (SERGs), the SHift Up Mentorship Program, and select system wide IB initiatives.

Provides operational leadership without people management, exercising authority through program governance, financial stewardship, platform ownership, analytics, and executive level reporting. Ensures IB programs are scalable, compliant, data driven, and strategically aligned, moving the function beyond coordination into mature program management.

EDUCATION:

  • Equivalent experience will be accepted in lieu of the required degree or diploma.
  • Bachelor's: Business Administration or related field

  • 8 years recent relevant experience

JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES:

1. SERG Operational Leadership (Primary Accountability)

Provides full operational and governance ownership for Sutter Employee Resource Groups.

  • Owns administration and ongoing management of the SERG platform.
  • Plans and facilitates regular SERG co lead meetings to drive alignment, consistency, and issue resolution.
  • Oversees SERG event logistics and coordinates content for the quarterly IB newsletter.
  • Administers and operates the SERG rewards program.
  • Reviews and approves SERG communications and events in partnership with the IB director.
  • Manages and tracks each SERG’s allocated budget, including spend approvals, cost controls, and financial reporting. Requires independent judgment, policy application, and financial oversight beyond administrative coordination.

2. SHift Up Mentorship & Key IB Program Management

Provides strategic and operational ownership for SHift Up and assigned IB initiatives.

  • Owns the SHift Up platform, including pairing processes and system configuration.
  • Designs and executes year-round marketing, recruitment, and engagement strategies to sustain mentor and mentee participation.
  • Manages program workflows to support scale, retention, and experience quality.
  • Provides structured operational support for the Sutter Leaders Sponsorship Program.
  • Supports planning and execution of IB director led trainings and learning initiatives.
  • Accountable for program health, growth, and sustainability, not just execution of tasks.

3. Advanced Data, Analytics, and Enterprise Reporting

Leads IB analytics, evaluation, and insight generation.

  • Builds, maintains, and enhances IB dashboards and reporting tools.
  • Conducts qualitative and quantitative analysis across SERGs, SHift Up, and system wide inclusion data.
  • Identifies trends, risks, gaps, and opportunities affecting IB outcomes.
  • Translates findings into insights and recommendations for IB directors and senior stakeholders.
  • Produces a comprehensive annual IB impact report summarizing outcomes and strategic implications. Analytical responsibility is a defining element of the role.

4. Program Governance, Platform, and Vendor Oversight

Ensures strong governance and operational integrity across IB programs.
