Why You Will Love this Job:

Location: Hybrid role in Waukesha WI. This role will require significant travel up to 50%.

The Sales Director-US for Clarke Energy will report to the Vice President of Energy Solutions and Operations to expand business in a competitive market. This leader will be a key player in building business strategy for the short and long term.

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Manage and lead the external Sales department, motivating team members and taking overall responsibility for the development and performance of the function.

  • Provide team members with training, coaching and development opportunities in order to support learning and improve performance.

  • Set targets and objectives for the team, arranging regular meetings to ensure that sales are on plan and that all possible avenues for additional sales are explored and followed through.

  • Initiate and respond to requests for meeting with prospective and existing customers to promote and build understanding of the Clarke Energy offer, and how this differentiates the Company from its competitors.

  • Create a thorough understanding of differing customer requirements so that the company has the information necessary to make an appropriate response.

  • Develop strong relationships that enable any problems/issues to be dealt with quickly and ensure that Clarke are seen as a valued business partner.

  • Lead the negotiation of capital project contracts managing the technical and commercial risks.   

  • Allocate internal Sales Department resources, ensuring that staffing levels are adequate, and activities prioritized in line with company objectives. 

  • Support the company’s objective of increasing serving/maintenance relationships across the client base.

  • Research market and obtain customer feedback to establish competitor performance measures

  • Take overall responsibility for the management, maintenance and development of the CRM database.

  • Develop expertise and build relationships in emerging markets by keeping up-to-date with developments and by representing the company at conferences, exhibitions etc.

  • Support the VP for Energy Solutions & Operations in the development of a short and longer term business strategy.

  • Promote and build understanding of the Sales function across the organization through attendance at internal meetings, contact with colleagues and regular communication.

  • Ensure that Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality management policies and procedures are fully understood and adhered to.

Requirements:

  • At least 10 years' experience in a senior sales management role.

  • Engineering background with considerable experience of working in the field.

  • Experience of managing high-value sales projects.

  • Strong understanding of customer and market dynamics and requirements.

  • Staff management experience

  • Degree in Engineering is preferred
