Lead Database Administrator

About the Job

As the Lead DBA, you’ll be responsible for all our databases and data warehouses that store the billions of data points we ingest and create. Our applications handle traffic in the hundreds-to-thousands of QPS, and our databases need to keep up with the heavy read-write demands for that data.

You Will:

• Overseeing the creation/management/maintenance of all data stores used in our platform, including: RDBMS, NoSQL, DW, caches, etc
• Planning for: Performance, Capacity, Upgrades, Maintenance, Redundancy, Data Integrity
• Collaborating with other technical leads on data flows and architecture
• Leading the DBA team to execute operational and strategic tasks
• Managing the database change process for the Engineering team 

You Have:

• 7+ years working with PostgreSQL
• 4+ years working with MPP Data Warehouse solutions such as Greenplum or Redshift
• 4+ years working with NoSQL databases
• 4+ years working in AWS data storage solutions such as RDS, Aurora, Elasticache
• 4+ years experience leading a team
• Experience with Application DBA responsibilities and organizing processes with development teams to track and execute 
• Experience on analyzing query plans, tuning stored procedures, troubleshooting locks, and long running queries.
• Ability to build, configure, and tune databases/data warehouses
• Experience with replication, redundancy, and maintenance strategies and tools
• Comfortable in a Linux/UNIX environment
• Effective communication with non-technical members of the team
