Description
The Medical Assistant Supervisor provides oversight, onboarding/mentoring, performance management and development of schedules for clinical teams (medical assistance and scribes). This person coordinates and collaborates with internal teams to ensure the highest quality of care, access and patient experience are provided.
The Medical Assistant Supervisor reports directly to Director of Operations. Coordinates and collaborates with Director of Ops in companywide initiatives that involve the clinical team.
Ensures all clinical checklists, policies and procedures are adhered to and carried out by medical assistant and scribe team.
Performs clinical training for new and established employees to maintain all skills ensuring the highest level of patient quality care and satisfaction.
Oversees scheduling to ensure proper staffing during start of shift, lunch breaks and end of day.
Identifies office workflow improvement opportunities and coordinates with Director of Ops in development and implementation of process improvement workflows.
Provides necessary coverage as needed and may be required to rotate between locations to ensure proper staffing for delivering excellent patient care.
Demonstrates the ability to effectively communicate through written communication and verbally with team members to ensure execution of our company values of Access, Integrity, Quality, Teamwork and Accountability.
Coordinates with Providers and Director of Ops on projects or clinical concerns as needed.
Participates and may lead mandatory meetings, classes, programs, and refresher training as scheduled. Obtains and maintains BLS.
Assists clinical staff and front desk with patient flow, assuring each shift gets started in a timely manner.
Sets the example for the clinic and creates a positive work environment and culture that upholds company values.
Demonstrates the ability to diffuse tense or emotional situations when they arise between team members or patients within the clinic.
Collaborates with the lead team to ensure all duties cleaning, instrument maintenance, and daily, weekly, and monthly checklist are completed by the clinical staff.
Ensures clinical staff adhere to all the OSHA regulations and standards, follows universal precautions, safety measures and uses proper body mechanics in performance of job.
Perform periodic check-ins with team members and provide appropriate documentation for behavior or performance management concerns. Completes yearly performance reviews for each team member.
Assists with updating policies and procedures, training manual protocols, learns, and understands the clinical procedures performed by various providers.
Understands the ordering of supplies and equipment repair and preventative maintenance schedule.
All other duties as assigned.

Requirements
- 2 or more years as a Medical Assistant or Scribe
- 2 plus years in a leadership role
- effective communication skills
