Summary
Join HII Mission Technologies and make an impact on the safety of our US Navy ships. As an Electrical Team Lead, you will provide task support by install, operate, maintain maintenance repairs and technical support on equipment. This is a full-time position, located in Chesapeake, VA.
What You Will Do
- Leads technical teams for installations and repairs, within or across technical trades specialty.
- Ability to manage, oversee, schedule and assign tasks to one or more multiple jobs. Installs, operates, maintains, repairs and modifies equipment.
- Performs a variety of maintenance and technical support on products such as equipment, integrated systems and subsystems, and software at customer and/or field locations.
- Analyzes and evaluates products and related performance. Troubleshoots and diagnoses malfunctions to eliminate problem in minimum time. Installs, upgrades and removes products ensuring coordinative engineering field change.
- Maintains effective customer communications and relations. May provide onsite training of customer support personnel.
What You Must Have
- High School education, or Trade School or equivalent, and 6 years of related experience to include at least 2 years of team/deck lead experience.
- Must have working knowledge and experience with troubleshooting, maintenance and repairs of electrical systems and its associated equipment (Motors, Motor Controllers, etc)
- Must be proficient in reading electrical drawings and schematics.
- Must be able to follow/enforce safety procedures to ensure a safe and secure work environment.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Confidential security clearance.
- Must be able to obtain base access credentials within 60 days of start date and maintain credentials throughout employment.
- Must be able to provide hand tools per trades designation.
- Must be a U.S. citizen.
Preferred Requirements
- Previous experience working on Navy and/or MSC ship Cargo and Weapons Elevators.
- A current, active DoD Confidential security clearance or higher.
- Previous experience working with PLC Controllers.
- Able to read and understand the use of precision measuring tools.
- Able to identify system and component location based on ships structure.
- Previous experience and ability to use meters and test equipment.
- Prefer technical/professional certifications.
Physical Requirements
Must be able to lift, carry and transport heavy equipment and boxes. The exact weight requirements will be determined by the specific job, but no less than 30 lbs. Able to work on and climb ladders, work in extreme temperature environments, aboard ships, in shipyards, under industrial conditions and in confined spaces. Able to perform other duties as required which may involve high heat, humidity, noise and dirty conditions, working aloft or over the sides of vessels. May ride ships at sea for extended periods.
