Further, the role will work with the Company’s business development group for strategic acquisitions, license arrangements and other key business development transactions. This role will facilitate and manage patent matters globally, with accountability for a number of marketed products.  </p><p>This position will be based in Stockholm, Sweden and reports to the VP IP Counsel.</p><p>Key Responsibilities</p><ul><li>Prosecute, maintain and defend patents, patent term extension applications and patent applications directed to existing and forthcoming products worldwide.</li><li>Support to business development activities by making timely patent due diligence analyses, freedom-to-operate searches and analyses and support in negotiation and agreement drafting for new business development transactions.</li><li>Assess and monitor patent rights for competitor products.</li><li>Collaborate with and support other functions of the Company on patent matters, such as Regulatory Affairs, Medical Affairs and Product business teams.</li><li>Counsel key stakeholders, including management, in protecting and defending Sobi’s IP rights worldwide.</li><li>Assess and timely analyze freedom-to-operate on patent matters.</li><li>Review proposed publications and presentations for potential impact on patent portfolio<strong>.</strong></li><li>Manage outside counsel, and patent-related budgets, forecasting and resources.</li></ul><h3>Qualifications</h3><ul><li>Qualified European Patent Attorney with 2-5 years post qualification.</li><li>Experience in IP portfolio development and management (including preparing, prosecuting and defending technically relevant patent applications) within the pharmaceutical/biotech industry. Global experience is preferred.</li><li>Experience in patent due diligence.</li><li>Exceptional written and oral communication and presentation skills.</li><li>Skills in working in cross functional arrangements, internationally.</li><li>Strong commercial awareness to provide IP advice to diverse business functions.</li><li>High level of emotional intelligence, as demonstrated in strong relationships with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.</li><li>Fluency in written and spoken English.</li></ul><p>Personal Attributes</p><ul><li>Independent, pro-active, service-minded and flexible, can-do-attitude, collaborative, accountable, respectful, sense of urgency, ambition, excellent communication and influencing skills.</li><li>Collaborate effectively and maintain a positive attitude.</li><li>Quickly adapt to changing priorities and environments.</li><li>Work autonomously with initiative and accountability.</li></ul><h3>Additional Information</h3><p>All Sobi employees need to demonstrate behaviors in line with Sobi's core values: Care, Ambition, Urgency, Ownership and Partnership.
