MAIN JOB OBJECTIVE
The Senior Manager, Key Accounts role is the key contact with the retailer buying offices. Collaborating on strategies, sales and rank targets, inventory planning and activations to drive growth in national accounts to achieve sales targets and secure best in class in-store and online exposures. This role mirrors the structure of many retail partners. This position will partner with our retailers. This position will report directly to the Head of Sales and Planning.
Job Description
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Client Relationship Management: Building and maintaining strong, trusting relationships with key clients, understanding their business needs, goals, and challenges.
- Strategic Account Planning: Developing and executing strategic plans to drive growth, maximize revenue, and ensure the continued success of key client accounts.
- Communication and Coordination: Acting as the main liaison between key customers and internal teams, coordinating efforts across departments such as sales, marketing, product development, and customer support.
- Sales and Business Development: Identifying and pursuing opportunities for upselling, cross-selling, and expanding product or service offerings to key accounts. This also includes contributing to new business pitches.
- Problem Resolution and Support: Addressing client inquiries, resolving issues, and proactively identifying solutions to meet client objectives.
- Performance Monitoring and Reporting: Conducting regular business reviews, analyzing key performance indicators (KPIs), and reporting on account health, satisfaction, and sales forecasts.
- Negotiation and Contract Management: Negotiating contracts, pricing, and terms with key accounts.
- Market and Industry Awareness: Staying updated on industry trends, market developments, and competitor activities to adjust account strategies.
What you will learn (and/or achieve) in the first 6 months:
- Develop strong cross functional relationships and synergies across: marketing, digital, visual merchandising and planning
- Learn retailer business procedures to ensure brand follows best practices guidelines
What you will achieve in 12 months:
- Identify business opportunities by account to increase overall share and brand awareness
- Understand retail, gross and net sales trends compared to budget in order to optimize brand profits
- Contribute to and project manage launch strategies in collaboration with marketing, digital and store design
- Optimize product assortment and gondola productivity to maintain elevated space and location within our retail partners
- Understand sample and GWP needs and collaborate on qualifier, ROI and forecast units
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position on average of 7.5 hours/day.
- Light to moderate lifting may be required.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be regularly required to stand, sit, reach, stoop, kneel, and operate a computer, telephone, and keyboard.
Qualifications
PROFILE
You have/are:
- 6-8 years in account management or sales or sales planning, with a proven ability to retain and grow strategic accounts
- Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to build trust with clients
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, confident in leading reviews and negotiations
- Ability to develop effective customer strategies, analyze sales potential, and translate data into actionable solutions
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to manage complaints effectively
- Comfortable navigating through data to create opportunities
- Highly organized, self-motivated, and able to multitask and prioritize efficiently
