About The Opportunity
This position serves as a strategic business partner to operations leadership by providing timely analysis and insight into cost and operational performance of Menasha Packaging’s Corrugate sites. Financial objectives focus on driving cost transformation, throughput efficiency, and margin enhancement, while also driving strong forecast accuracy and clear, accurate and timely reporting. This role will also own responsibility to ensure there are strong reporting and performance KPIs in place to drive understanding of financial and operational performance and bringing actionable insights on key drivers. This role will be counted on to lead leaders of financial analysts and plays a critical role as a coach and a builder of future leaders.This roll will also be a strategic thought leader in driving analytical work supporting significant cost transformation moves, along with strategic long-range capital and capacity planning as well. Ability to independently balance many competing priorities and proactively address vague or broad business, or process challenges, is a critical skill in this role. Being able to think strategically, bring critical thinking and influence leadership with cleanly communicated, synthesized analysis of complex issues will be key to the candidate’s success.
An eagerness to invest time in talent development, a passion and skill to coach, provide feedback and build capabilities of others is a key skill the ideal candidate must bring to the table. An ability to provide candid feedback and stretch and the team is critical in this role. They must be able to role model for and coach up their financial analysts in these leadership behaviors as well.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
The following duties are normal for this position. The incumbent may perform some or all of these duties however; it is not an exclusive or all-inclusive list. Other duties may be assigned.
- Key, deeply trusted, highly influential finance partner to the VP of Operations and MPC Leadership team, and a trusted partner who provides counsel across operations and commercial teams, regarding critical decisions and their impact on MPC profitability
- Ensure operational performance and cost trends are understood and well controlled by finance and operations business partners via established standard processes and governance
- Provide timely and accurate financial reporting and forecasting of Menasha Packaging (MPC) cost of manufacture outlook
- Provide insights to operations business partners on drivers of throughput performance and opportunities to grow throughput
- This role would help build and transform the reporting and forecasting disciplines within Operations Finance.
- Lead critical, strategic capacity and capability capital business case development
- Lead cost transformation, cost savings analysis for the business
- Review/monitor cost performance and analyze trends and proactively drive timely action plans to capture cost savings opportunities and mitigate risks
- Gatekeeper of all capital investment evaluations or business cases coming from adjacent internal business while serving as a steward of internal controls
- Provide thought leadership on management of inventory and drive improvements in efficiency of inventory
- Synthesize complex data trends and communicate implications and recommendations in a compelling manner that facilitates action
- Display an ability to collaborate with a wide variety of business partners, and ability to build trust and adapt to changing business demands
- Monitor working capital levels and aging, leading and supporting resolution of aging inventory
- Identify areas of continuous improvement with the teams you lead, as well as within the Finance function, sharing best practices within the Finance team
- Lead, coach and develop direct reports, including timely, regular discussion of current performance as well care
