Overview

The Associate Director, Corporate Communications, is responsible for helping to develop and execute Insmed’s external communications strategy in order to inform and engage key stakeholders around critical company news and milestones and continuously enhance our corporate reputation. The ideal candidate will have outstanding writing and editing skills, creative ideas, a keen eye for detail, comfort and adeptness with various technologies, and strong business acumen. Candidate should be knowledgeable about traditional and social media, digital and web properties, and industry events and awards. As a member of a streamlined team within a rapidly growing organization, the ideal candidate must be nimble, collaborative, and comfortable working under tight deadlines. The role reports to the Senior Director, Corporate Communications.

Responsibilities

  • Support the planning and execution of Insmed’s corporate media relations strategy, in partnership with senior team members and corporate PR agency
  • Be responsible for corporate, executive, and culture award opportunities and support executive and senior leader speaking opportunities; develop award and speaking opportunity submissions, as necessary
  • Support the strategy and management of Insmed’s corporate social media channels (LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, and X), including reviewing content, being responsible for organic and paid campaigns, and supporting executive thought leadership on social, in collaboration with cross-functional partners and team members
  • Support the development of press releases and other external content, as needed
  • Support the development and maintenance of corporate policies and standard operating procedures for Communications owned and handled properties (e.g., media relations, social media)
  • Support the management of Insmed’s corporate website
  • Uphold the corporate brand, including helping to maintain brand guidelines and collateral and ensuring their consistent use across the organization
  • Ensure consistent and accurate pull-through of corporate mission, vision, values, culture, and strategy into all communications
Qualifications
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in public relations and communications; prior in-house or agency experience in the biopharmaceutical industry strongly preferred
  • Outstanding written and verbal communications skills
  • Ability to work effectively and efficiently under tight deadlines and across functions, including partnering effectively with Product Communications, Marketing, HR, Legal, Regulatory, IR, IT, and others
  • Proven ability to take a project from idea to implementation
  • Proven ability to think strategically, connecting communications work to company objectives and priorities
  • Ability to prioritize competing activities in a fast-paced, complex environment
  • Bachelor’s degree required
