Manager of Security - Fire & Plant Protection – Quonset Point (QP)
This position is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the Electric Boat Security and Fire Organizations at the Quonset Point facility. The successful candidate will lead the Plant Protection, Security Compliance and oversight of the Fire Marshal’s Office (FMO) and Electronic Tank Monitoring (ETM) programs.
In this role, the Manager of Security is responsible for providing full security oversight for the Quonset Point facility and all associated off-site facilities and reports directly to the Electric Boat Director of Security with a dotted line reporting responsibility to the Director of Human Resources at Quonset Point. The selected candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive security strategies to effectively identify, manage, and mitigate risk across all Rhode Island locations.
Key responsibilities include:
- Overseeing a proprietary armed guard force and ensuring compliance with federal, state and local regulations.
- Managing the Industrial Security Compliance and Access Control Programs at all EB facilities located in the State of Rhode Island
- Maintaining day-to-day oversight of the Fire Marshal’s Office (FMO) and Electronic Tank Monitoring (ETM) programs.
- Ensuring the physical security of employees, visitors, contractors, facilities, deliveries, products, and sensitive information.
- Planning and executing security measures for dignitary and VIP visits, large-scale events and ceremonies at all EB facilities located in the State of Rhode Island
- Executive protection planning
- Coordination with (City, State and Federal) law enforcement and Emergency Management agencies at all EB facilities located in the State of Rhode Island
- Developing, implementing and evaluating training programs related to active shooter response, workplace violence prevention, and emergency evacuation procedures.
- Oversight of badge control operations at all EB facilities located in the State of Rhode Island
- Implementation of security plans for employees and visitors, and management of the classified control matrix to support operations within sensitive environments.
- Ensures proper handling and maintenance of security records, including on-boarding, visit requests, and documentation for employees, vendors, and visitors.
- Ensures the FMO is performing and documenting fire discrepancies, fire-safety surveillances that minimize hazards associated around an industrial production facility involving large amounts of hot work.
- Maintains that the FMO is compliant with industry standards for atmospheric testing, confined space tank re-certifications involving competent person work and the electronic tank monitoring (ETM) program.
- Assures all FMO personnel and equipment are operationally ready on a daily basis to respond to an unplanned emergency at the QP and off site facilities.
The ideal candidate must have the ability to build and maintain strong relationships both at Quonset Point and with their Groton counterparts to ensure alignment on overall strategy and policy while illustrating a strong commitment to the various missions of the organizations they will lead.

Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher
Experience in emergency planning and response – developing disaster plans, coordination response, and using the National Incident Management System (NIMS)
- 10+ years of General Management experience (supervisor or above with direct reports).
- 10+ years or more years of continuous experience within a professional Industrial Security or Municipal, State, Federal, or Military law enforcement or Fire Service organization.
- Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license issued by the state in which you reside
- Legally and physically operating company vehicles and using Company issued equipment as required for the performance of assigned duties is required
